I grew up in Christian fundamentalism, went to hell, came back, became a Presbyterian then a Buddhist Presbyterian, and now I'm a profane Presbyterian Zen Taoist -- not that I'm into labels or anything. Here's what I've learned so far: The more you know, the more you know you don't know.

Spiderman hangs from a broken
Crane, threatening
To plunge all Broadway into
Darkness and disaster.
Hovering in a rescue helicopter
High above submerged houses
Makes this seem a Monopoly set
Where the only pieces are mortgaged homes.
What strength is there against
An exploding power station?
Not even a skeleton of a house
Whose foundations have sunk in quicksand.
A roller coaster contorts around
Sailboats slammed together,
And boardwalks splintered apart
Drown among those felled by trees.
