Reasonable -- that is, human -- men will always be capable of compromise, but men who have dehumanized themselves by becoming the blind worshipers of an idea or an ideal are fanatics whose devotion to abstractions makes them the enemies of life.

This quote reminds me of Adyashanti's teachings and this quote from him: "There is no such thing as a true thought." When we allow beliefs to impersonate truth, then we are devoted to the falsehoods that create the illusion of separation. Whenever we are fighting about what is true, we are indeed enemies of life. Thanks for sharing this quote. How timely, in a sad sort of way.

Indeed. In fact, it seems to me that we humans are most willing to kill each other over "truths" we can't prove.
Thanks for reading and writing. I always enjoy what you bring to the table.
