I grew up in Christian fundamentalism, went to hell, came back, became a Presbyterian then a Buddhist Presbyterian, and now I'm a profane Presbyterian Zen Taoist -- not that I'm into labels or anything. Here's what I've learned so far: The more you know, the more you know you don't know.

Tribes
The more abstract, the easier
The lie. Borders dissolve;
Those who can get out alive.
Indigent and homeless, Sunnis
Grovel in immigrant camps
In Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey.
Alawites staunch their purity
While Christians cower
And try not to take sides.
Old news stays news’
Whoever has a grudge
Picks up a gun to avenge
Their murdered families.
