Five Observations
Water never runs uphill
without a reason.
Winds may sweep across an ocean,
but they cannot sweep it away.
Earth packs tighter
with every step we take,
but the ground is never so hard
that it can't be opened
for another grave.
Fire is heat and light,
the two things we need
to survive a primitive night.
There are times when silence becomes
a blanket of mercy and forgiveness.
