Pain and Gratitude

When I am in pain, I say thank you.
When I am suffering, I say thank you.
When I am hurting, I say thank you.
When I am cut to the quick, I say thank you.

It is not the pain I am thankful for.
It is the turning point, the insight,
the wisdom, the gift that comes
wrapped up and hidden inside.

Judge J on Gratitude

When accepting an award or prize, remember that other people are jealous and resent your winning. So be sure to say that you are unworthy of this honor, and remind everybody how you could never have gotten where you are without the support and kindness of individuals equally if not more talented than you. As for the money, take that to the bank.

Just found you... and am loving this.

I've been a reader of the Tao for many years, and not at all a Christian.

love what you're doing here.

I agree with the wisdom part, but I only say thank you once the pain or misery has subsided!

Dr. M: Money? There's money involved?

Cristin: Welcome. Read as much as you want. I'll write more. I'm glad you're along for the ride.

R.T.: It usually takes that long before you know what to be grateful for, right?
