Standing firm in one's faith does not mean adhering to a set of beliefs; it does not require us to suppress doubts about Christian or other doctrines, but points to something which lies beyond doubt in the depth in which man's being and all being is rooted. To be aware of this Ground, to live in it and out of it is ultimate strength.
