I grew up in Christian fundamentalism, went to hell, came back, became a Presbyterian then a Buddhist Presbyterian, and now I'm a profane Presbyterian Zen Taoist -- not that I'm into labels or anything. Here's what I've learned so far: The more you know, the more you know you don't know.

Wall Street Bonfire
The counting houses reach
Toward the rising sun.
Their cold steel-plated glass
Loves watching itself sway.
Rumors can frighten the herd
Both inside and outside the pillar.
Those with only tents left
Pitch them in the park,
Repeating the script, they know
Where they are on the map.
Staying in good health costs money,
A luxury even fewer can afford.
To learn who they are, they want
To be physically beaten and jailed,
Witnessing the bankruptcies,
Ashes and bones for the dog pound.
