    I just ran across this quote from Thomas a Kempis: "The Lord bestows his blessings where he finds the vessel empty." And of course the Suzuki Roshi quote: "In the beginner's mind are many possibilities. In the expert's mind are few."

    I believe, now, that when we become empty then the ray of Light/Life is un-refracted by our memories, histories, desires or ego. Make sense?
