Stay or Go


I look down an old road.
No telling what lies at the end.

If I'm not willing to help others,
I might as well stay home.

    When the caterpillar
    becomes a butterfly,
    has its consciousness changed
    or become unbalanced?

    When someone you love
    is cremated,
    has her consciousness changed
    or has yours?

    Amid this chaos
    of constant change,
    what is your relationship
    to radioactive dust?

    Whoever asks such questions
    fears the answers
    as if being between
    were safer than being part of.
