One and All

Where one is hungry,
all are hungry.

Where one is thirsty,
all are thirsty.

Where one is sick,
all are sick.

Prosperity and health
do not spare us
from the plight of others.

  1. Unhinged

    A burning woman sheds
The wax candle of her flesh.

This is no special effect; tips
Of her roots taste of wicks.

Some claim her shriek still hangs
    Overhead, but nothing’s really there.

Only the baby she left behind,
    All black in white linen.
