After his mother died, his father stopped shaving.
“Let’s bury her out on the lawn,” his father said On the fairway, “Or out by the Fifth Tee If I ever make it there,” and he saluted, Shading his eyes with his right hand.
A burly thicket of hair grew into a beard.
Then after his father died, they cut off the beard And buried it outside his picture-window. Although each bristle was tested for drugs, The beard continued to grow.
