Pears


If the universe
has no Source,
no Creative urge
behind it, then
why are there pears?

    Wall-E

    Neurologists are
    Mapping the brain. CAT
    Scans light up fractals.

    Will they find our dead
    Parents or those friends who changed
    The way our minds work?

    Their bell curve shatters
    I. Q. points like Altzheimer’s
    Schizophrenic dance.

    And upside-down as
    A possum, each pear dangles,
    Ripe for nature’s tears.
