Wherever You Are

Where one day is fading to black,
another day is just beginning.
The consequences of location.

Help those you can wherever you are.
Trust dawn to come to those you can't.

  1. Consequences of Location

    Slugs cling to the chute
That feeds the coal mine and hold
    On for dear life as

    The earth’s spin pulls them
Toward the zinc slate of night, pool
    As they darken from

    Smoke, carbonized tics
Soaking up sweat and blood from
    The weary miners.
