Doors

Some doors should not be opened.
Some doors should not be closed.
Some doors should not be doors at all.

Discovering which is which is the journey.

    Brine

    Catfish. Braised garlic.
    Carefully peeling the spine,
    To suck the salt out.

    Some would hang it to
    Catch flies swarming from mouths
    Of thugs and bullies.

    Some would curve it so
    Ribs could be struck by mallets
    Like a xylophone.

    Nectar of the sea,
    Each crystal contains secrets
    Of life’s origins.
