Words Matter. Words Fail.


Words matter to us
because they are the tools
we use to understand
who and what we are.

Words fail us
when we try to use them
to understand what lies
beyond names.

    Here is all that’s here
    Echo of ideal
    Woods or cave

    The best wave
    Holds minnows
    In its plastic tear

    The wok sizzles
    A satellite dish
    For blogs and wonks

    Cup the hand
    Scoop up the air
    Take a drink

    Never know what
    You might say
    When you find chalk
