When Both Sides Are Right

How do I choose
when I know
both sides are right?

    Hiccup, split
    Identity straight
    Down the middle,
    As a scimitar would
    To a banana.

    How many peals
    Of the gamelan
    Will it take to pummel
    Melancholy into mute?
    Between 9 and 99.

    Answer your own questions,
    Sit up, eat your food,
    Everything on your plate,
    Including the lice –
    Especially the lice!
