I can see the bottom of a creek. I can touch the bottom of a stream. I can swim to the bottom of a river. I can dive to the bottom of the sea. How do I reach the bottom of the Tao?
There is no bottom Each floor gives way To another beneath it Until there is no floor Only a rural highway Or cardboard boxes Beneath an underpass Where cold winds knife through With the Arkansas River For temptation
I open, a bloom:
ReplyDeletethe honeybee lights on me,
touches the inmost.
When I receive, I'm carried
forth from myself, and give life.
There is no bottom
ReplyDeleteEach floor gives way
To another beneath it
Until there is no floor
Only a rural highway
Or cardboard boxes
Beneath an underpass
Where cold winds knife through
With the Arkansas River
For temptation
