Secrets of a Sound

A low gong echoes across a valley
from one mountainside to another.

The sound travels unseen by any eye
like a secret meant only for the ears.

What else lies hidden within its depths?

  1. Japan

If Japan adapted Daylight Savings Time,
Their economy could make an additional billion.
    Everybody would suddenly feel better.

Time would not have been lost,
Nor would they have run to catch up to the West
If Japan adapted Daylight Savings Time

The time it takes to walk home from work
Would allow us all to enjoy another sunset.
    Everybody would suddenly feel better,

Altering clocks to keep science correct
Could lead to inventing more tinkertoys
If Japan adapted Daylight Savings Time

Hard enough now that we’re all on cell call
    Twenty-Four-Seven! With an hour break,
    Everybody would suddenly feel better

Human time moves at the pace of laundry,
Or doing the dishes, or changing the baby.
If Japan adapted Daylight Savings Time,
    Everybody would suddenly feel better
