Six Changes

Watching your child be born.
Losing faith in your parents' religion.
Being told of your mother's death.
Making the decision to get married.
Being confronted by your own prejudices.
Discovering the universe within.

    [after Flaubert]

    Repeat after me
    Simon cannot see
    Simon says you’re blue
You know it’s all too true
    Polly want a cracker
    Pusher and a hacker
    Victor tried to flee
    America at sea
    Crown a hula halo
    Teach the parrot Calo
    Sundays with a host
    Become the Holy Ghost
    Then open up the sky
    So Félicité can die
