Justice Is Not About Fairness


Justice is not about fairness.
Justice is about balance.
Balance offers a wider field of view.

    Homegrown

    The natives are restless tonight.
    Embedded in the soft plush

    Of suburbia, far from their homeland,
    Sent to study the enemy,

    This is one way to earn respect
    From an indifferent air force father,

    Having lost in the free market,
    With a house under foreclosure,

    Sending wife and children
    Back to Pakistan for their safety,

    All that’s left is one spectacular
    Fireworks display in Times Square.
