The Weak Among Us


The weak among us help us realize
the measure of our own strength.

If they are truly weak,
their weakness draws out our compassion.

If they are not,
their weakness draws out our anger.

    Whimsy
    A warm purr
    Before the computer

    At the heart of zero
    An absence
    Of smile

    Acceptance
    Without recrimination
    For you as you are

    Only human
    Bur more than that
    Art everywhere

    A drop of arsenic
    In the eye
    Of a needle

    To keep you alive
    When no longer
    Do you care
