At the Center

At the center of all things
is the center of every other thing.

    It’s gold
    Only if you’re old
    And do as you’re told

    On fire
    Another buyer
    Beware whom you hire

    Like oil
    Gold can roil
    Stocks rise and recoil

    It shines
    In Pawn Shop signs
    Of closed gold mines

    So cold
    What Midas can hold
    Choking on gold
