Making the Other


Deep creates shallow.
Silence creates sound.
Darkness creates light.
Oneness creates endless
reflections of itself.

    ILLEGAL FLOWER TRIBUTE

    “Let a thousand flowers bloom,”
    Mao was supposed to have said
    Before lopping the heads off
    Those who did.

    During the Cultural Revolution
    You needed a permit
    To raise goldfish
    On the roof.

    These days, mourning
    The loss of Google,
    Not even flowers
    Can be lain for the death
    Of intellectual freedom.
